Awake again on a beautiful Miami morning I am facing Collins Ave, the street that was plastered all over Lil Wayne's song "Single for Tonight ." As I wake up here morning after morning it amazes me how much Hip Hop is covered on a street where at minimum 85% of the population is from another country (and this may be a low figure), or speaks another language, however they all love Hip Hop, they speak in the lingo (from what I can understand) they wear its clothing, the woman share in the same Butt Plastic Surgery, the Hip Hop music is blaring out of Ferraris, Lambos, and Bentleys, yet I barely see many independent artists sharing in the fruits of these people.

It is time for Hip Hop to stop being free! We must pull back the Mix Tapes that we assume get us on! Yes understood Drake got on, and it was a very big deal, however he got on not because of the sales of his mixtape but because who the tape was handed to, LIL WAYNE. Now if that is your end result for creating your mixtape, so be it, however strategize your attempts to get the mixtape into the proper hands. The issue behind the Drake Mixtape is that the mixtape was Mixed and Mastered to a science and that the young man had more than one mixtape released, and he also was an actor on a popular children's series, and was from a town where artists and fans share in each others music. All of these concepts were a RECIPE for success.

Now the average Artist does not have all these elements backing them, they normally dont have any of them. But what they can have is a following. How do you get a following, that can assist you own your art?

No more free music, I heard an interview by Diamond the Femcee making her way up the games ladder (she was once an artist in the group Crime Mob) in the interview she stated she had made 10 free mixtapes! WOW! 10 of them , she was so blown, you should have seen the expression on her face after stating she is not giving out no more free music!

I know that many will say that you have to give it out for free to gain fans, and why will someone pay for something they never heard? However just like in the food industry they never hand you free plates of food! I know everyone has been in a mall where they walked past a chinese restuarant and they handed you those small pieces of chicken on a toothpick, and what did we do? we took it tasted it and if we were hungry we bought a plate.

So how do we do that in the music industry? First online there are so many places where we can offer up our music before a larger audience for streaming purposes and still get paid for the upload of our music. Also artists go outside with a walkman, an Mp3 Player, a BoomBox, if that is what it takes and let people listen to your sound, offer the people a glimpse of who you are and then straight up ask would you like to purchase our music? Hip hop in the Beginning for the MOST part is an expression of one's' self-through urban art, from the dancers, artisan, Dj's, to modern poet / Philosophers. Reflecting on what WAS going on around Them, the urban culture as a whole. As for what it is in my eyes the modern poet / Philosophers ie the M.C. Taking examples from what Influence it (R & B, blues, rock), & whatever WAS stewing in the melting pop of the urban world, and in "ghetto fashion" taking all That Was it all around and making Its Own. Now thirty plus years later you find out and Influence the mainstream of pop culture & history making it a staple in Americana.

As now the prior spoken as for the M.C. Suggest as the name is The One That Has Been in the forefront of This culture. The M.C.Were it WAS as the reporter to a revolution That Has Been televised, marketed, & produced to the masses. The M.C. Can and Have Reached the mountaintop of acclaim His Way Through the Written Word of Manipulating to entertain, enlighten the crowd.As With The storytellers of yesteryears Their command of Their audience legendary dog ​​and Has Been. Hip hop en el comienzo en su mayor parte es una expresión de la "auto a través del arte urbano, de los bailarines, artesanos, Dj, para el poeta moderno / filósofos. Pero en conclusión para ayudar a responder la pregunta de un amigo "estilo" o la distinción de un MC es para mí más que vosotros mismo habéis amplificado para expresar uno mismo al mundo de lo que es, debe ser, y podría ser. The Music Industry is built of a small society of moguls who in 2011 are not even in the industry. The days of rising from the inspiring artist who worked their way to the top have ceased. Going to the record store and picking up your favorite CD is gone. Hearing yourself for the first time on the radio has turned into "how much are you willing to pay for your spins". You ask why am I telling you all this hun? Here are the facts:

1. Independent artist makeup over 70% of the music artist

2. Less than 10% of sales are sold in record stores

3.The allegiance of support amongst recording artist has failed completely

4. Social Media has taken over but offered you no return

5. Artist has forgotten how to build a career

Fact is this people are so worried about the name game that they will pay a person just to get close to that person. The i need a leg up in order to succeed mentally. What you really need is good product and a plan to create exposure for yourself. Artist refuse to band together and create an alliance with other artist. Fact is it doesn't matter who makes it first it matters that you all make it.

Never feel you are above the next artist because you are not. The simplest marketing plan can make a C-level artist into an A-list artist real quick! But who even has strategized their game plan. The old hurry up and wait syndrome has attacked artist. You rush and are no closer to the promise land than you were when you started. How can I fix it you ask?

3. Take care of your business before you release a song

4. Create a fan base who has interest in you

5. Hit a single before you go for a homerun

Artista se niegan a unirse y crear una alianza con otro artista. El hecho es que no importa quién lo hace primero es importante que todos lo hacen.

No siente que está por encima de la siguiente artista, ya que no lo son. El plan más simple de marketing puede hacer un artista de nivel C en una rápida artista de la lista A de verdad!Pero que aún tiene propusieron estrategias de su plan de juego. Hip Hop is Disorganizing! (Our Day of not getting to Record in the Lab)

So yesterday we had a scheduled studio time with an up and coming engineer within the Southern Florida market, we had a set time for us to meet after we got off of our regular consulting job out in Coconut Creek Florida (what we like to call our alter ego jobs) at 5pm and re-record a song that our Manager believes is a hit (another story saved for later)! However I have to tell you that miscommunication in HIP HOP is a BITCH!(and I don't mean literally a female dog or a mean woman) I mean annoying! I've never noticed how much we the people of what I call the Hip Hop Generation speak in metaphors and similies. Which hinders our ability to delegate, communicate and project manage tasks in a manner where goals are completed within a timely fashion! This is becoming an issue! We must stop speaking in metaphors and complete tasks, and we can do it by speaking in complete sentences! In order to gain the life back into Hip Hop and give it the respects that I know it deserves we must state what it is we want from each other in a language that we can all understand.

For instance yesterday I told the engineer that I will call him after we were off from work and then meet him at the studio by 7pm. I called him at 6pm giving him at minimum an hour for him to get to the studio and prepare the session, (which should have already been prepared hours in advance). When I called at 6pm he does not answer the phone of course, I give it a few more minutes and call him and then he answers the phone (after at least three phone calls). He then explains to us that he does not know the address to his studio, so he then begins to tell us street names we must pass to get to his studio, about the Starbucks at the corner from his studio and about the school that is right across the street from his studio that he does not know the name to. We ended up waiting at the coffee shop near the studio unitl he called and told us that his Protools rig was not functioning. Come to find out that he had his motherboard reconfigured and lost all his software components.

Miscommunication:

I was at fault for assuming that he had his rig prepared for recording. He was at fault for not checking on his equipment before the session began. *Remember this story is about an up and coming engineer and our adventure with getting to record with him, it may have ran smoother with someone not as novice, however communication begins here at the novice level!*

DISORGANIZATION:

He did not save his ProTools or another software drivers in case of such an emergency. This is something that I learned years ago when my computer crashed! Always keep your software (CD and Driver Components)

ADVISE:

I began downloading the drivers to a separate thumb drive, or external hardrive and placed the software drivers in a CD case, if not the same box they came in.

So now we are sitting at the coffee shop waiting (since it was the only place I could navigate from my GPS) however we still found a way to miss each other. He got to the coffee shop before us could not find us and left without calling! (For Real!, and you want to be a super star without having patience?) He doesn't call, heads home to later find out his system is down because of Driver issues. However we are told that today it will happen after I get off of work becuase the issues should have been taken care of... I want to believe that so bad but I already contacted another studio and engineer. Hip Hop at the independent level is so disorganized! So I realized either I pay a major industry recording studio and gain the proper respect that is due to our time and money or I will do it myself, as I use to do within my home recording studio. I went with the latter, and got myself a copy of Logic and my own engineer to sit in my recording studio session with me to record us!

Advise to myself!

I can cut down the disorganization of Hip Hop within my life by better communicating to my own engineer/staff as to what I want and need. Through complete sentences. I dont speak in slang anymore when it comes to delegating and describing what we want, because it doesnt get us anywhere but nowhere. (Hint*** Everyone works or has worked a job once in their lives, and that job came with some form of manual and they were able to interpret it. Gauranteed metaphors and similies were kept to a minimum, and not only did the employee understand the rules and their tasks but they performed them.)

I am not saying that we can gain perfection, however "some are more perfect than others."-48 Laws of Power (Great Book). It means Hip Hoppers it is time we strive for perfection because the time is now! Now is the time for us the independent Artists to speak to one another in complete sentences and keep the grunts and ad libs for the Track!

En Espanol para mis Latinos y Latinas

Así que ayer tuvimos un tiempo de estudio programado con una ascendente y que viene ingeniero en el mercado del sur de la Florida, tuvimos un tiempo determinado para que nos reunamos después nos bajamos de nuestro trabajo de consultoría regulares en Coconut Creek Florida (lo que nos gusta llamar a nuestro alter ego puestos de trabajo) a las 5 pm y volver a grabar una canción que nuestro Gerente cree que es un éxito (otra historia guarda para más tarde)! Sin embargo tengo que decir que la falta de comunicación en el hip hop es una perra! (Y no me refiero literalmente a una perra o una mujer media) me refiero a molestar! Nunca me he dado cuenta de lo mucho que la gente de lo que yo llamo la generación Hip Hop hablar en metáforas y símiles. Lo que dificulta nuestra capacidad de delegar, comunicar y gestionar el proyecto de las tareas de una manera que los objetivos se completan dentro de un tiempo adecuado! Esto se está convirtiendo en un problema! Debemos dejar de hablar en metáforas y completar las tareas, y podemos hacerlo hablando en oraciones completas! Con el fin de ganarse la vida de nuevo en el Hip Hop y darle el respeto que yo sé que se merece tenemos que decir qué es lo que queremos el uno del otro en un lenguaje que todos podemos entender.

Por ejemplo ayer me dijo el ingeniero que yo lo llame después de que se fuera del trabajo y luego reunirse con él en el estudio de las 7pm. Lo llamé a 18:00 darle como mínimo una hora para él de llegar al estudio y preparación de la sesión, (que ya debe haber sido preparado de antemano horas). Cuando llamé a las 6 pm no contestar el teléfono, por supuesto, le doy un par de minutos más y llamar a él y luego le contesta el teléfono (después de al menos tres llamadas telefónicas). A continuación, nos explica que él no sabe la dirección a su estudio, por lo que comienza a decirnos los nombres de calles que debe pasar para llegar a su estudio, sobre el Starbucks en la esquina de su estudio y sobre la escuela que está bien a través de la calle de su estudio que no sabe el nombre.Nos terminamos esperando en la cafetería cerca de la unitl estudio me llamó y nos dijo que su plataforma Pro Tools no estaba funcionando. Desorganización:
No guarde su ProTools u otro los controladores de software en caso de una emergencia.Esto es algo que he aprendido años atrás, cuando mi equipo se estrelló! Siempre mantenga su software (CD y componentes del controlador)

CONSEJO:
Comencé a descargar los controladores en una memoria USB por separado, o el disco duro externo y se colocan los controladores de software en una caja de CD, si no es la misma caja que entró

Así que ahora estamos sentados en la cafetería esperando (ya que era el único sitio donde podía navegar desde mi GPS) sin embargo, todavía se encuentra una forma de extrañar a la otra. Llegó a la cafetería antes de que nosotros no pudimos encontrarnos y se fue sin llamar! (De verdad!, Y quiere ser una súper estrella sin tener paciencia?) Él no llama, se dirige a casa para encontrar más tarde a su sistema se ha reducido debido a los problemas de controladores. Así que me di cuenta de que ya sea pagar un estudio de la industria de grabación más importantes y ganar el respeto que se debe a nuestro tiempo y dinero, o lo haré yo, como yo uso para hacer en mi estudio de grabación casero. Fui con este último, y me compré una copia de la lógica y mi propio ingeniero a sentarse en mi sesión de estudio de grabación con me nos de registro!

Me puede reducir la desorganización del Hip Hop en mi vida por una mejor comunicación con mi propio ingeniero / personal en cuanto a lo que quiero y necesito. A través de oraciones completas. The Third element: B Boying wow what ever happened to the utilization of dancers in our music? and I mean dancers! Real dancers, how can a stripper and a pole illustrate a song better than a bunch of strippers on some poles or dancers choreographed with some awe inspiring dance routines. I love the stripper pole as much as the next guy however make my viewership more entertaining! Sex does sell we understand that it does however Nelly almost ruined an entire career with a sexual gesture. B Boying was a such an important skill in the game that they created gangs that hung out with artists and danced for them while they M.C.ed, and the D.J. spun the music! Teamwork. Solution: Go to the strip club and get all the dancers together and assist them with choreography and hip sexy outfits and teach them how to dance! I would watch that video! But for real utilize dance groups they are more than likely than not be young and very ready to join your circle and become your dancers for your videos, and did I mention they think they are a gang so there is at least more than 5 members within their group, and they might be some strippers (hint: Deep down inside Strippers do know how to dance!)

Fourth and Final element but not the least! My favorite of all elements the graffiti artist! This guy/girl is now called a Graphic Designer, however he/she got some skills on that computer with colors and tones! similar to the Graffiti artist of old! Key to remember that MTV's first Hip Hop show Rap City was hosted by a WORLD Renown Graffiti artist FAB FIVE FREDDY! The Graffiti artist is the way we illustrate our art on canvas, and through jpegs. Problem, we do not connect with the graffiti artist/graphic designer as much as we should. Because its expensive to do so, and why is it expensive? Because we make it that way. I was told today by my mentor that dont make your barrier to entry your price. Solution: Graphic Designer and ARtist get together create some good album cover, single cover art and Graffiti Artist place your name where it needs to be placed to gain you some recognition! Graphic Designer work with the limited budget the artists may, however Graffiti Artists you still get your work out, dont wait for your boss to tell you when and how to utilize your skill, work with the small budget of the artist. and what artist is going to question free work? Make your art do as it wants, but do keep the artists benefits in mind. Find the right artists that will express your ART!

Dug writing this blog because I dont feel HIP HOP is dead it's on life support and wants to breath. One of the reasons that it is in need of help is because teamwork is not being spread amongst the M.C. (Master of Ceremony), the D.J. (Disc Jockey), B Boy (Break "Dancer" Boy and girl) and the Graffiti artist (Graphic Designer). When all these people get together into a solid state of friendship, teamwork and partnership then quality music will arise, and then the music would not sound like its dumbing down our children, it will sound like Skool was placed back in session!

El tercer elemento: B Boying wow ¿qué pasó con la utilización de los bailarines de nuestra música? y me refiero a los bailarines! Bailarines reales, ¿cómo puede una stripper y un poste de ilustrar una canción mejor que un montón de strippers en algunos polos o bailarines coreografiados con algunas rutinas de baile inspiradora. Me encanta la barra de striptease tanto como el tipo de al lado sin embargo, que mi audiencia más entretenido! El sexo vende entendemos que lo hace sin embargo Nelly casi arruinó toda una carrera con un gesto sexual. B Boying era un una habilidad tan importante en el juego que crearon las bandas que se juntaba con los artistas y bailar para ellos, mientras que MCED, y el DJ girar la música! El trabajo en equipo. Solución: Vaya al club de striptease y obtener todos los bailarines y ayudarles con la coreografía y trajes de cadera sexy y les enseñan a bailar! Me gustaría ver ese video! Pero de verdad los grupos de danza que se utilizan más que probable que no sea joven y muy listo para unirse a su círculo y se convierten en tus bailarines para sus videos, y ¿le he dicho que creo que son una banda por lo que hay por lo menos más de 5 miembros en su grupo, y puede ser que algunos strippers (una pista: En el fondo Strippers sé cómo bailar)

Cuarto y último elemento, pero no menos! Mi favorito de todos los elementos de la artista de graffiti! Este chico / chica que ahora se llama un diseñador gráfico, sin embargo él / ella tiene algunas habilidades en ese equipo con los colores y los sonidos! similar a la artista de graffiti de la vieja! Clave para recordar que la primera de MTV Rap Hip Hop muestran Ciudad fue presentado por un artista de renombre mundo del graffiti Fab Five Freddy! El artista de graffiti es la forma en que muestran nuestro arte sobre lienzo, ya través de imágenes JPEG. Problema, no nos conectamos con el artista de graffiti / diseñador gráfico tanto como deberíamos. Debido a que es caro hacerlo, y por qué es caro? Porque nosotros lo hacemos de esa manera. Me han dicho hoy por mi mentor que NO hacer su barrera de entrada a su precio. Solución: diseñador gráfico y artista se juntan crear algunas buenas portada del álbum, la portada solo lugar y artista de graffiti de su nombre en el que tiene que ser colocado para ganar algo de reconocimiento! Trabajo de diseño gráfico con el presupuesto limitado de los artistas, sin embargo los artistas de Graffiti sigue recibiendo su trabajo a cabo, no espere que su jefe le dirá cuándo y cómo utilizar sus habilidades, trabajar con el reducido presupuesto del artista. y qué artista se va a cuestionar el trabajo gratis? Hacer de su arte hacer lo que quiera, pero mantener los beneficios artistas en mente. Encontrar a los artistas adecuados que expresa tu arte!

Excavado escribir este blog porque no se siente HIP HOP está muerto es el apoyo a la vida y quiere respirar. Una de las razones por las que se encuentra en necesidad de ayuda se debe a que el trabajo en equipo no se está difundiendo entre los MC (Maestro de Ceremonia), el D.J. (Disc Jockey), B Boy (Break "Dancer" Chico y chica) y el artista de graffiti (diseñador gráfico). Cuando todas estas personas se reúnen en un estado sólido de la amistad, el trabajo en equipo y la asociación entonces la música de calidad se levantarán, y entonces la música no sonaría igual que su embrutecimiento de nuestros hijos, va a sonar Skool se colocó de nuevo en la sesión!
